Countless people from all over the planet travel to New York to immerse themselves in its nearly endless sights and sounds. Amongst those many sights and sounds is probably one of the most famous "ladies" in the world. Who is that? The Status of Liberty of course! How fortunate was my crew and I to have our shoot location for the day be just across the water from her? How silly was I for forgetting to work her into my shoot in any way, shape or form. Nonetheless a beautiful location! haha Thankfully the shots turned out great even without the famous lady.
The crew met up at my New York offices (read: my hotel room :D) to get the day rolling. One Uber ride later and we arrived at the location for the day where we planned a series of shoots to show off our amazing model playing the role of an alien showing her astronaut friend around town. A little cold that day in New York to say the least but our model was a total trooper! Some very light clothing, especially in one of the shots, but not a single complaint was heard. Consider me one grateful photographer!
We managed to pull off some great shots! We really had to play with angles to make it work since we were basically working out of an industrial park. Lots of bare looking buildings, lots of large trucks and very little greenery. Rumour had it one of the buildings also served as a low key law enforcement intel post so that was .... interesting ... and nerve wracking! Oh don't mind us ... just a foreigner, some creatives and a person dressed up as an astronaut roaming around your secret building. Teehee
Back to the shoot ... our stylists and makeup crew did a great job of pulling of an out of this world look and feel without it coming across as absurd. I had the pleasure of working with the amazing Wade again who as always immediately vibed with my concept and really pulled it off. Fell in love with my stylist Ginevra who I had the pleasure of working with. We definitely shared a similar wave length and I cant wait to work with her again whether its in New York or somewhere else.
This shoot was then published in No Name Magazine and mentioned by Wonderful Machine!
Thanks to the crew, thanks to my understanding model and thanks as always to New York! Looking forward to working with them all again (and maybe the famous lady too!)
